After a fabulous week on Prince Edward Island, we are now home safely. While on the Island we saw a number of different things - from beaches to Lighthouses - to everything Anne of Green Gables (for Anne fans, you know the the Island is saturated with everything about her). It was great spending time with family and also to have sometime alone with God. It's wonderful how when you get away for awhile, you become a little more objective about changes that need to be made in your life, etc.
One of the wonderful truths of which the Lord reminded me when on the Island is that people matter to God. I had the opportunity to visit a small church in Cherry Valley, P.E.I. that was probably made up of farmers and people who fish for a living. There might have been 10 families (if that), and yet there they were, meeting with the Lord faithfully each week just as we do here in Peterborough. All the things of a "big"church don't apply there - it's just the importance of getting together for fellowship and to worship the Lord. It's very simple, really. And yet, I sensed very clearly that the Lord loved His people there in Cherry Valley - just as He does all over the world. Indeed, people matter to Him. They really do!
